Our Major Operations
Forest Development and Management
As one department in Amhara Forest Enterprise, Forest Development and Management implements forest development, management and protection activities every year by improving from experiences of previous years.
Tree Seed Center
The tree seed center (TSC), under the Amhara forest Enterprise. (AFE). was established in March 2013 by the Japan government assistance forest Seed Project jointly with ministry of Agriculture. It has collaborative venture with forest research institute and higher learning institutes and other sectors.
Forest Utilization and Product Management
Forest utilization and product management is one of the major four departments organized by Amhara Forest Enterprise. Among others, it prepares management plan for matured forests so that management and utilization can be carried out accordingly.
Forest Industry and Investment
In the region we have five sawmill factories and they are producing different sizes of lumber from Cupresuss Lustanica tree keeping the standard requirements of the market. AFE as a share company holder, it also produces good quality veneer and plywood products.
Forest and Forest Product Marketing
The Forest and Forest result core process is established to sale the first and second level forest product as well as forest seed which is tested the quality and germination rate in the laboratory for domestic and international marketing for import substitution and to generate income which help the over going development of the region.
